Gina Adams scored 25 points and Abby Carrington added 21 as Westlake won the Elyria district championship on Friday night. This is the Lady Demons first district title since the 2015-16 season. Abby Carrington and Summer Salem made back-to-back 3-pointers in the third quarter to extend the lead. Hot shooting from Faith Lewis kept Amherst in the game until the Lady Demons pulled away in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Demons defeated Amherst 34-20 to finish the season 17-1 in the SWC and became co-Champions with Olmsted Falls. This is the eighth conference title in Lady Demons history and the first since 2016. Gina Adams was the leading scorer with 17 points in the hard fought victory.

The Lady Demons finished the first half of SWC play with a 44-39 win over Amherst in a physical road match up on Saturday. Stephanie Randar returned to the game after taking an elbow to the face and made some crucial offensive and defensive plays down the stretch. Emma Hall was big again off the bench with three 3-pointers. Gina Adams led the Demons in scoring with 16 points.

The upset party continued on Monday night with the Lady Demons defeating 3rd seeded Amherst 2-1. Emma Jaros got the Demons on the board first followed by Sami Jablonski extending the lead to 2-0. The Comets quickly closed the gap with a goal of their own but stellar defense and an incredible night in goal by Lilly Voiklis secured the victory.
