The Lady Demons defeated North Ridgeville on Tuesday night and advanced to play 5th seeded Amherst Steele in the district finals on Friday. A balanced scoring attack from seniors Abby Carrington, Stephanie Randar and Gina Adams helped the Demons get out to a big lead. North Ridgeville made a spirited comeback attempt but Westlake made their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Westlake will play for it’s first district championship since the 2015-16 season. The game will be Friday night at 7:45pm at Elyria Catholic High School.

Westlake used a smothering defense and contributions from eight different players on offense to get a 59-18 win over North Ridgeville on Saturday. Christina Zkiab led the Lady Demons with 11 points including three 3-pointers. With the win Westlake improves to 16-1 in the SWC.

Westlake hosts Amherst for the last regular season game of the season on Wednesday at 7pm. The Lady Demons will clinch the SWC Championship with a win and an Olmsted Falls loss or will become co-champions with a win and an Olmsted Falls win.

The Lady Demons fended off a game effort from North Ridgeville with a 66-52 victory on Wednesday. The Rangers made ten 3-pointers and kept things close going into halftime. Westlake’s signature full court press and a career-high 36 points from Gina Adams helped secure the win.

The Lady Demons were shutout for the first time this season by North Ridgeville on Wednesday night. The win moved the Rangers into sole possession of 1st place in the SWC. Lilly Voiklis had a great night in net saving 4 shots on goal by a high powered Rangers offense. The Demons were shorthanded offensively due to a flu bug going around.
