An early season battle for first place lived up to the hype but unfortunately the Lady Demons ended up losing to Olmsted Falls 38-36. The Bulldogs defense held Westlake to just 9 points in the first half as they headed into the break with a 20-9 lead. The Lady Demons stormed back in the second half and narrowed the deficit to just 2 points. Ultimately the Bulldogs held onto the lead and won the game. These two teams will play again on January 25th.

Westlake vs. Midview

Westlake 50 Midview 20

The Lady Demons returned to action after Thanksgiving break with a 50-20 win over Midview on Wednesday night. Midview hung around for the first quarter but the Demons stifling defense led the way to offense in the second half. Gina Adams led the team with 18 points. The win improved the team to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the SWC.

Welcome to the 2019-20 Lady Demons Basketball photo blog! The Demons kicked off the season with a 68-50 win over Warrensville Heights on Saturday. Gina Adams and Abby Carrington led the way, both scoring 21 points. Speaking of points, Gina Adams scored her 1,000th career point as a Lady Demon in the first quarter. She was awarded a commemorative ball and celebrated with her family and teammates.

The Lady Demons put up a great fight but unfortunately the season ended in the District Finals following a 0-4 loss to Strongsville. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a fantastic season and a thrilling ride this past week. The upset party continued on Monday night with the Lady Demons defeating 3rd seeded Amherst 2-1. Emma Jaros got the Demons on the board first followed by Sami Jablonski extending the lead to 2-0. The Comets quickly closed the gap with a goal of their own but stellar defense and an incredible night in goal by Lilly Voiklis secured the victory.

The 7th seeded Lady Demons upset the 2nd seed Magnificat in Penalty Kicks on Thursday night. Summer Salem evened the game at 1-1 in the second half off a Lydia Choban free kick. After two 15 minute overtimes the game remained tied and went to penalty kicks. Sami Jablonski, Jenna Kowalski, Lydia Choban and Katie Gallagher scored for Westlake. Lily Voiklis saved the first two Magnificat kicks and then watched as the final kick sailed wide right of the goal.

The Lady Demons beat cross town rival Bay Village 1-0 on Saturday night. After a scoreless first half the Demons got on the board when Stephanie Randar scored her first goal of the season from a Summer Salem free kick.

The Lady Demons got back to their winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Lakewood on Wednesday night. The goals were scored by Anna Williams, Sophia Kontak and Sami Jablonski. With the victory the Demons improve to 3-2-2 in SWC conference play.

The Lady Demons fell to the #4 ranked Brunswick Lady Blue Devils 3-1 on Saturday night. Brunswick was coming off a win against #2 ranked Medina. The Demons battled all game long and kept things close until the last minutes of the second half. Sami Jablonski scored the lone goal.
